WaterFresh
and EcoAsia are working together to design and test a compact
self-contained water purification plant that can be air delivered
using a standard LD-4 aircargo container, and positioned by
helicopter or light truck. This technology will provide 20,000 to
80,000 litres/day of pure drinking water. This airmobile unit will
complement WaterFresh's
village-scale water purification technology.
The
system
is small enough to be able to be air freighted to an emergency
setting where disease is a major risk to human life, and can treat
enough water to be able to easily handle large influx of people
displaced by disaster or conflict. They are easily transportable in
the event that a settlement has to be moved or demounted.
The
Mini-WaterFresh
will:
-
Weigh
less than 500 kg, including diesel fuel for 48 (???) hours
operations.
-
Be
powered by an included diesel engine (???).
-
Include
basic hoses and fittings for accessing and delivering water.
-
Connect
directly to standard bladder storage units.
-
SanSmart's
containerised waste water treatment systems can be flown in ready to
install, linked to plumbing and power and can be functioning in days
with the treated effluent clean enough to water camp gardens.
-
The
WaterFresh
technology ensures that clinics, birthing centers and hospitals have
steady reliable flows of sterile water in which no pathogens exist
to compromise an immunologically vulnerable community.
